In my Frome weaving studio, I have two large Scandinavian floor looms with my rugs being woven on the largest of the two.

Weaving rugs, scarves and wall-hangings uses a process that involves a shuttle thrown by hand and the patterns created are influenced by the way the loom is threaded via the heddles and treadles. By pressing down on the treadles of the loom a sequence of shafts are selected to lift up and down for the weft to pass over and under.

My work is strongly influenced by colour and I see it as the signature in my work. I love what can be achieved through colour mixing of the warp and weft and the pleasure of obtaining an impression of colour harmony through close graduation.
